Course Name: OSU West Campus Disc Golf Course |
|||||||
|
Description:
This is a nice recreational course tucked into a bustling urban
college campus. Almost every hole is bordered on at least one side by
roads or parking lots all of which are O.B.. The course is fun
with great ambiance and right handed backhanders should score well
here since it can be played in 18 straight hizer shots (sorry lefties..but
not the designer's idea). This is also an area with loads of car and
pedestrian traffic and will require a great deal of common sense and
courtesy on the part players to keep this facility from becoming a
major nuisance. The course itself is 4554' on the score card which is
about 100' longer than I measured it. The only big discrepancy is hole
17, listed on the sign and card as 231' measures 172', if you throw it 231'
you'll be over the fence and O.B.. The tee pads are huge and have the
grippiest surface I've ever seen. |

Directions: From either the north or south exit Rte 315 at Lane Ave. and go west to Kenny Rd.; turn left on Kenny and take your first right which is the entrance to West Campus; on your left you will see the Quonset Hut (rounded) type building; this is the Jesse Owens West Tennis Center and the first tee and practice basket are near the entrance to this building which is on the south end. Parking is a tricky issue! Unless you have some kind of O.S.U. Parking Permit on your car. you are a visitor. and are limited to the meters, of which there are very few. There are some in the circular drive near the main building and a few at the north end of one or two of the big lots (say around the basket of #3). Good luck with the parking because they patrol this area relentlessly and will ticket you if you're in the wrong place. |
